UPDATE: A body has been found. While no formal identification has yet taken place, Kamile Gimbutyle's family have been informed.
POLICE Scotland have launched an appeal to help trace a teenage missing from Melrose.
Kamile Gimbutyte, 18 and also known as Rhian, was last seen in Melrose around 2pm on Sunday, September 15 and was believed to be walking in the area of the Eidon hills.
She is described as being around 5ft 4ins in height, of medium build with short dark hair and was last seen wearing a striped navy blue hooded top, blue trousers and was carrying a navy backpack.

Inspector David Robertson said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Kamile’s welfare and efforts are ongoing to trace her.
“I am appealing to anyone who has seen Kamile or who has any information on her whereabouts to contact us.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 3554 of September 15, 2024.
