Glasgow will once again be hosting the Commonwealth Games in 2026– 12 years after it last held the event.

The 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow are fondly remembered by many and had a major impact on areas across the city.

The 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games in pictures

The Glasgow Commonwealth Games, which took place in July and August of 2014, proved to be a sporting success for Scotland, ranking fourth in terms of medals won, placing the country behind England, Australia and Canada.

Scotland won a total of 53 medals with 19 of these being gold, 15 being silver and 19 being bronze.
