TO mark a decade since the Scottish independence referendum, The National held a special event in Glasgow to look back on the campaign and reflect on how the vote changed Scottish politics.

The evening began with a screening of the documentary film To See Ourselves from award-winning director Jane McAllister.

During the build-up to the referendum, McAllister – while heavily pregnant – captured footage of her father Fraser McAllister as he campaigned for Yes in the East Lothian town of Musselburgh.

Following the screening at The Social Hub, a lively panel discussion was chaired by author, journalist and broadcaster Lesley Riddoch with SNP depute leader Keith Brown, Jane and Fraser McAllister, and Yes campaigner Matthew Wilson.

This was followed by a Q&A with the audience who were keen to discuss how we motivate youth to campaign for independence and what the route is to securing another referendum.
