POLICE are appealing for information after around £50,000 worth of goods was stolen in North Lanarkshire.

The incident took place at Greengairs landfill site between 2pm on Sunday and 7am on Monday.

Approximately 800 litres of diesel, 300 metres of copper cable and various tools, estimated to be worth around £50k, were stolen.

Detective Constable Craig Hartley said: “Our enquiries into this significant theft are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual at the time to come forward.

“If you saw anything unusual or suspicious in the area, including any suspicious vehicles, please contact police immediately.

“Additionally, we encourage anyone with dash-cam footage or other relevant information to reach out, as it could be crucial to our investigation.”
