A BODY has been found in the search for a teenage boy who had been reported missing from Kirkcaldy at the weekend.

Jamie Lyons had been reported missing on Sunday and was believed to have travelled to Glenrothes on the same day.

Police have now confirmed they have found a body in a woodland region in the Oriel Road area of Kirkcaldy at around 4.20pm on Monday during the search for the 19-year-old.

Officers have said formal identification is yet to take place, but Lyons’s family has been notified about their discovery.

Police also said they do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
