UPDATE: Traffic Scotland has said that all lanes are now running as normal following an earlier vehicle fire.
A SECTION of the A9 has been closed heading southbound after a lorry caught fire.
Traffic Scotland confirmed at 8.13am that the southbound carriageway at Inveralmond Roundabout remains closed.
A statement on Twitter/X said: "The southbound carriageway remains CLOSED at Inveralmond following the earlier vehicle fire.
"Traffic being diverted off the #A9 via the #A85 offslip and rejoining via t#A85 onslip."
Traffic Scotland first posted an update around 3am, saying that the road between Broxden and Inveralmond had closed due to a vehicle fire.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 2.50am on Tuesday, October 1 2024, we received a report a lorry had broken down and subsequently caught fire near Broxden roundabout, Perth.
"There were no reports of any injuries and recovery was arranged."
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been approached for comment.
