FIREFIGHTERS are tackling a blaze at a house in St Andrews which broke out in the early hours of the morning.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent three fire engines to the scene in Braid Crescent when the alarm was raised at 2.09am on Thursday.

Two appliances were still at the scene in the Fife town at 6.15am.

It is not known whether anyone has been injured.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the fire was “significant”.
