TWO pensioners have died following a pair of tragic incidents in Greenock and Gourock.

Ambulances, incident response vehicles and police cars rushed to separate incidents on Cardwell Road in Gourock and Eldon Street in Greenock just before 9am.

Police say neither of the deaths are being treated as suspicious and that a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal in relation to each of the incidents.

It is understood that despite the proximity of the two incidents, which lead some locals to initially believe they were linked, the two tragedies are unrelated.
