A FOUR-YEAR-OLD girl is fighting for her life after being hit by a car in Glasgow.
Emergency crews were called to Cumberland Street outside Blackfriars Primary School in the Gorbals at around 3pm on Tuesday, October 15.
The child was then taken to the Royal Hospital for Children for treatment.
Now police have revealed that she is in a critical condition.
The car involved was a white MG HS car and the 57-year-old male driver was not injured.
Road policing officers are investigating the crash and they are urging any witnesses to get in touch as soon as possible.
Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “Our thoughts are with everyone involved and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
“We are asking anyone with information, including dash-cam footage or private CCTV, to get in touch if they can assist with our investigation.”
“If you can help please call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1964 of Tuesday, October 15, 2024.”
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
