A SCOTTISH flight has been forced to declare a mid-air emergency on the way to a popular Spanish holiday destination.

The Jet2 aircraft was heading to Alicante this morning (October 22) from Edinburgh Airport but made an emergency U-turn.

Around 8.28am, the flight diverted to London Stansted airport – apparently due to a customer requiring “medical assistance”.
