SCOTS have been invited to vote for new pro-independence billboards with options pointing out the damage of Labour's Winter Fuel Payment cut.

Campaign group Believe in Scotland (BiS) has launched a vote for two new billboards to be created.

The billboards will be funded by the annual crowdfunder launched by the group. The 2024 crowdfunder is set to finish later this week, and the total currently sits at more than £88,000.

The group said: "We have three potential billboard ideas but only two will make it onto a billboard – help us decide by voting below!

"We like all three, so we are asking the Believe in Scotland community to choose which ones we should use. The two that receive the most votes will be the ones we go for!"

The first billboard has the words "Dream Big or Live Small" with the Scottish Saltire and Union Jack colouring the wording.

The second idea has an image of a frozen rose with the words: "Labour's own research says cutting the winter fuel allowance will kill 4000 pensioners".

The final suggestion is a picture of Keir Starmer, with the words: "Starmer gets freebies whilst your granny freezes".

BiS said it was "a bit of campaign fun" with "important messages calling out the Westminster Government’s disregard for the wellbeing of our pensioners".

It added: "Only with independence can we build a country and a society where political and economic decisions match the values of the people who live here."

The Winter Fuel Payment gave all pensioners £200 to £300 to ensure they could heat their homes over the colder season but this will now be means-tested with only those on pension credit or other benefits receiving it going forward.

Earlier this month, Holyrood voted overwhelmingly against the cut with two Labour MSPs, including a former party leader, rebelling against Sarwar.
