A “HAMMER attack” which took place on a Scottish island has been captured by Google Maps.

The staged “masterpiece” went viral on social media, showing the moment a man appears to brandish a hammer at someone else.

Academic Gideon Futerman was visiting the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides in the summer when he spotted Google’s car-mounted 360-degree camera approaching.

(Image: Google Maps) He and his friend quickly came up with the idea to stage an altercation with a geological hammer that would be captured onto Google Street View.

The camera captured the moment Futerman’s friend aimed the hammer towards him.

“Over the summer, I went to the very North of the Isle of Lewis on a field trip to map the geology there with a close friend of mine,” he wrote on Twitter/X.

“The google street view car went past. We had a geological hammer.

“The following masterpiece, now on google street view, was the result.

“I know I mostly post serious stuff on here, but this was simply too funny to not share.”
