TWO women have been charged after an incident on board a Jet2 plane which was bound for Glasgow.

A mid-air emergency was declared with police officers sent to the airport on Saturday, November 16 following a disturbance on a Jet2 flight from Antalya in Turkey.

The exact nature of the incident is not known but, after landing in Scotland, a 33-year-old and 50-year-old were arrested.

The pair are due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 6.30pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024, we were called to a report of a disturbance on board an aircraft bound for Glasgow Airport.

“A 33-year-old woman was arrested and charged in connection. She is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court at a later date and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

“A 50-year-old woman was charged in connection and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
