SCOTTISH actor Tommy Flanagan has revealed he wants to move back home following Donald Trump’s victory in the US election.

Known for roles in Peaky Blinders and Sons of Anarchy, Flanagan, 59, said it was “time to come home” and that he had “been away too long”.

It comes after we told how there was a major surge in Google searches from the United States asking, “how to move to Scotland” and Scottish citizenship” following Trump’s win.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Flanagan commented: “I’m based over there and my home is over there.

“It’s time to get away from that Trump. I don’t want to say I want to leave America because of him but it’s not made me want to stay, put it that way.

“It’s disgusting so we’ll see. If I start talking about it I’ll go f****** mental. But it’s not good.”

Born in Easterhouse, Flanagan found fame in the iconic 1995 film Braveheart and has since gone on to star in a number of major films, including opposite Russell Crowe in Ridley Scott’s 2000 film Gladiator.

The actor added: “I was on my way back years ago and then my daughter came along and she was born over there though she is Scottish. I want to bring her over here.”

Flanagan spent time in Scotland over the weekend to present Des Hamilton with the Outstanding Contribution to Craft prize at the Bafta Scotland awards.
