AN “iconic” Edinburgh pub has gone up for sale – with offers of around £1 million expected.

The Cloisters Bar, near to the city’s Meadows in Tollcross, has been put on the market with Christie and Co, which is inviting offers of over £950,000.

The bar is a well known real ale pub, and is known to be frequented by Edinburgh celebrities such as crime writer Ian Rankin.

The selling agents said: “Established in 1996, and occupying the former parsonage of St Michael and All Saints Episcopal Church on Brougham Street in the Tollcross area of Edinburgh, Cloisters Bar is housed in the historical former All Saints Parsonage.

“The building retains many of its traditional features creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

“The bar’s name and décor reflect its ecclesiastical heritage, with bare stone walls, wooden tables and pews contributing to its unique charm.

“Over the years, Cloisters has become a beloved spot for beer enthusiasts offering a rotating selection of cask and keg beers that keep patrons coming back for new experiences.”
