Announcing the news on Facebook bosses at the club said they "want to go out with a bang".
The reason for the closure is not stated, but the team says they are "excited for what's coming next".
The post reads: "After many incredible years, it's time to say goodbye to The Backroom as we close our doors for the final time.
"This bittersweet moment marks the end of an era, but we're excited for what's coming next.
"We want to go out with a bang, so join us for these last few nights to celebrate everything that made Backroom special - amazing music, unforgettable memories, and the best community around.
"The final night will be December 31 - Hogmanay 2024. We are also open every weekend in the lead-up to this.
"Thank you for all the love and support over the years. Stay tuned for exciting news about what's coming next - you won't want to miss it."
Punters shared their sadness at the news in the comments.
One person said: "Good memories of working there, all the best for your future venture."
A second added: "Sad to see it go. Loads of great memories in there."
A third comment: "I had a great time working there and met loads of amazing people, punters, staff, and DJs.
"After 19 years keeping staff and punters safe, I retired from the doors. I'm a tad gutted to hear it's closing but wish you all the best with the next chapter."
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
