SEVERAL popular Edinburgh attractions have confirmed they have been forced to close due to heavy snow.
Edinburgh Zoo confirmed on Saturday morning that it will not be opening due to safety concerns.
The zoo released a statement which read: "Due to the weather, it is not safe to open the zoo today. We’re sorry for any disappointment and will be contacting everyone who is pre-booked as soon as possible!"

The Edinburgh Botanic Gardens have also delayed their opening times as they monitor the weather conditions.
In a statement, the said, "Due to the current weather conditions, the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh will delay opening today. Saturday 23rd November, we will continue to monitor the conditions and forecast."
Edinburgh Christmas markets have also confirmed a delayed opening as snow continues to sweep across Scotland.
