James Forrest has signed a contract extension at Celtic.

The club legend - who has lifted 24 trophies with the club - has penned a new deal until 2026.

Forrest is the second most decorated Celtic player of all time and has spent his entire career with the Parkhead club.

He has played more than 500 times for Celtic and has over 100 goals and over 100 assists throughout his 14-year playing career to date.

Forrest was recognised with a testimonial at the start of last season.

Speaking to Celtic TV after signing his new deal, Forrest said: “It’s unbelievable. I’ve loved every minute of being here, from being a wee boy coming through the youth and all the ups that I’ve had playing for the first team.

“I’m just delighted that I’ve managed to work hard and hopefully I can keep contributing to the team for another year.

“There’s always been great players and managers at this club, and being a part of this club is a great feeling and once I finish my career I’ll properly look back and think about it all.

“When you’re in the bubble of it, there’s nothing better than playing and winning things here.”

Brendan Rodgers added: "This  announcement is brilliant news for the club.
