A SCOTTISH pub named this year as one of the five best with an open fire in the country has been put on the market.

The Byre Inn, at Brig o' Turk in the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, has been put on sale with agents Christie and Co for offers over £350,000.

The pub comes with around one acre of private land, a bar which can seat around 20 people, a beer garden with around 40 places, and a private three bedroom owner’s flat on the first floor.

The agents state: “The Byre Inn currently trades as a dog friendly pub and is well placed to capture any visitors or tourists who are exploring Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.

“They currently offer a combination of delicious fire cooked food, eclectic music, and outdoor fire pits that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. An example of their menu includes burgers, steaks and Sunday roasts.

“The business would be well suited to a couple which would allow them to keep costs low and grow the business going forward.

“There is lots to do in the area having walking and cycle routes passing the door and a fantastic market to capture with the right amount of advertising.”

The newspaper reported: “In the writer John Ruskin’s old stomping ground in the wonderfully named Brig o’ Turk, between Loch Venachar and Loch Achray. A country inn in deepest Trossachs, close to the start of the walk up Ben A’an. Pub grub in cosy, firelit rooms with outside decks.

“Pizza oven and an inexpensive wine list. A great halfway watering hole for cyclists on the Three Lochs Drive through Queen Elizabeth Forest.”
