SHOPPERS have been left devastated after an independent store in Newton Mearns announced its closure.
Just Because, which is located in The Avenue Shopping Centre in the East Renfrewshire town, revealed the sad news on social media.
In the post, the owners of the local shop said they would be closing their doors on Friday, January 24, 2025.

Following the announcement, the store thanked all its "amazing customers and associate members" for their help.
However, the owners said it "isn't the end" but "just a new chapter" and urged shoppers to "watch this space".
In the Facebook post, the store said: "Important announcement.
"Thank you for your support to Just Because. We've all worked incredibly hard and are deeply saddened to tell you that we will be closing the doors on Friday, January 24, 2025.
"These are due to reasons outwith our control.
"We could not have done this without our amazing customers, associate members, and pop-up business.
"Whilst disappointing, please be assured, this isn't the end, just a new chapter. Watch this space."
Punters of the store flocked to the comments of the post to share their devastation about the news.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
