THE National is running a special offer for Black Friday where you can get a digital subscription for just £10 for one year.
That’s less than £1 a month. But our offer ends tomorrow at 23.59pm, so in case you were debating whether or not to subscribe – here's why you should.
1. The only pro-independence newspaper in Scotland
We’re the only newspaper in Scotland to firmly take a pro-independence stance, and we’re proud to do so. Our journalism will always keep Scotland’s interests at the forefront of the news agenda and our journalists will always ask the questions the UK Government doesn’t want to answer.
2. No ads
There’s nothing worse than being bombarded with ads when you’re trying to read something. But when you subscribe to The National, all of those pesky pop ups disappear. It speeds up the website, too, making your overall experience much better.
3. Subscriber-only content
Some of our content is marked as subscriber-only. This includes our best exclusive stories and interviews, which often require more work and time to produce. Supporting us means helping us to continue this work.
4. Newsletters
We also have newsletters which are subscriber-only. You can get daily updates sent straight to your inbox, or you can also get a sneak-peek Behind the Headlines, where we give you the run-down on what happens behind the scenes.
Terms and conditions apply. Offer ends 3 December 2024 at 23:59 G.M.T. £10 for one year offer only valid on ‘Digital’ annual digital subscriptions. Subscription auto-renews unless cancelled. After the one-year trial period, annual subscription will be charged at £62.99 per year on ‘Digital’. Offer is exempt from gifting subscriptions. All subscriptions can be cancelled and refunded within 14 days of purchase. Non-subscribers and ‘Digital’ subscribers do not have access to The National digital edition. The National reserves the right to change or remove the offer at any time. Please see Terms & Conditions for full details.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
