ITV has revealed John Bishop will present a brand new comedy show which will air on Saturday nights, The John Bishop Show.
Liverpool-born Bishop, 54, is currently on the road with his area tour Right Here Right Now and is set to star in Doctor Who alongside Jodie Whitaker as the Doctor’s new companion.
The show will run for six weeks and have celebrity guests from the worlds of TV, film, music and sport in front of a live studio audience.
He will also be joined by stand-up comedians from all over the world who will showcase their talent in the new series.
Bishop said: “We’ve been discussing making a Saturday night show for ITV for a while and I am so glad that we are finally going to be doing it. We want it to be up to date and topical, whilst also fitting the energy and fun that Saturday nights on ITV is known for.”
An air date hasn't been released yet, but it is likely to be in 2022 as Bishop is on tour in the UK this winter until April 2022.
Tickets for the Right Here Right Now tour can be purchased via Ticketmaster.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
