Fans of Coronation Street may notice a massive change on set in the coming weeks after aerial pictures showed a store being boarded up on Victoria Street.
The Co-op, which has been a feature of Weatherfield for six years, will be replaced after ITV signed a 'megabucks' deal with Sainsbury's and Argos.
This means that a Sainsbury's store will take the place of the Co-Op, marking a huge change for the fictional area.
Work is currently underway to bring this new addition to the soap as pictures show the retail space boarded up with wooden boards bearing the supermarket's logo.

Co-op store to vanish from Coronation Street after six years
These changes on Coronation Street are set to appear in July and come after the retail giant entered a sponsorship deal in 2021.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that the deal had been extended until 2026 with a new shopfront being agreed between the two.
This new agreement will see other branding pop up in the Manchester-based programme.

Sainsbury's head of campaigns, Laura Boothby, said: “Coronation Street is one of the country’s most iconic TV shows which our customers know and love, so continuing our sponsorship made perfect sense.
“We hope the new store brings familiarness and fun to viewers watching from home and perhaps see Ken Barlow popping in to Click & Collect a new kettle!”
ITV Director of Commercial Sales and Partnerships, Mark Trinder, added: “We are proud and excited to be continuing and expanding the relationship between two of the nation’s most loved and recognised brands."
This is not the first time a brand deal has been signed with the Co-op and ITV entering a deal in 2018 alongside Costa Coffee.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
