Last night (December 1), I’m a Celebrity viewers voted Dean McCullough out of the Australian jungle.
The BBC Radio 1 presenter became the second celebrity to leave the ITV show, after Jane Moore was the first to bid farewell to her fellow campmates on Friday (November 29).
The 32-year-old’s departure was announced live on Sunday’s episode by presenters Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, with Loose Women panellist GK Barry telling him “have a prosecco for me” as he left.
Speaking about his departure, Dean said: “It’s absolutely nuts, I still can’t believe I’m here.

“I have really soaked up this whole experience, all the trials, the things I’ve faced, and got stuck in at camp, done a bit of everything, and I really, really, really enjoyed it.
“And when I woke up this morning, I thought if I go today, I am over the moon because I’ve not missed out on anything.”
Why was Ant McPartlin ‘harsh’ on Dean McCullough?
However, during Dean's exit interview on Sunday night, Ant shared the real reason why he was often “quite harsh” on Dean throughout some of his bushtucker trials, after being criticised by viewers.
He explained: "I was quite harsh on you. Let me explain why Dean. I was so angry at you for calling 'I'm a Celebrity'."
Dec added: "That was because we felt the trial was doable."
Ant continued: "Then, that tough love kind of got you through. I was really proud of you at the end and that tough love got you through.
“By the flying challenge, you were brilliant. I knew you could do it."
In total, Dean took on seven trials on I’m a Celebrity and won 33 stars for camp during his time in the jungle.

Elsewhere in his exit interview, Dean added: “I’ve learned that life is better when it’s simpler. You really, really don’t need to be on your phone all the time.
“You don’t need to be chasing the next appointment, the next meeting, the next gig, you can literally just sit in the moment and just watch what is going on around.”
Dean said he wanted GK Barry to win, describing her as “brilliant”.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
