West Sands Beach, St Andrews

Located close to the popular seaside town of St Andrews in Fife, West Sands Beach backs onto a nearby golf course and is close to the local aquarium.

Discussing their love of the coastal spot, travel and disability blogger Emma Muldoon said: "I have fond memories of visiting this beach as a child. It's a gem! It has a two-mile stretch of golden sand dunes and picturesque sea views."

She told Country Living: "Now, I take my nephews, aged three and 11. They love building sandcastles and splashing in the waves. There's a wooden walkway for people using wheelchairs."

Described as one of the UK's "most wild and remote" coastal spots, Sheigra Beach in Sutherland offers blissful isolation.

Discussing the location, Travel2Next said: "The landscape is wild, and the beach is small and windswept, but with beautiful sand and choppy ocean, making it popular for wild camping.

"There are few amenities here, but clambering around the area’s rocky outcrops and caves, and exploring its lush green coastline is perfect for a weekend trip away."

Luskentyre Beach was recently revealed to have some of the whitest sands anywhere in the world, being named alongside spots like Cala Pluma in Spain by CV Villas.

Situated on the Isle of Harris on the Outer Hebrides, the beach is often said to resemble coastal spots in the Caribbean, especially when the weather is nice.
