I HOPE all SNP voters just like me will have noticed that the Greens will not have a pact with the SNP at the General Election.
As 2026 is not that far away I have decided that I will – if I am still alive, that is – be changing my voting intentions from SNP 1 and Green 2 to SNP 1 and Alba 2. I have no qualms about doing this as I have never trusted the Greens.
I wonder what would happen if the Labour Party was looking for a coalition partner if the numbers were so close? I do not think that I am being paranoid here but something is niggling me. In 2026 it will be a make-or-break election.
There will be no second chances so the SNP will have to win without looking for help from anybody!
Forget about the General Election, as I do not think we will be doing very well in it.
The real date with the future of this country at stake is 2026.
So let’s work to that. By that time Sir Keir Starmer will be in all sorts of trouble and we will be able to take full advantage of the situation.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
