A GRASSROOTS independence campaign day is set to take place next month in the Scottish Borders.
Believe in Scotland (BiS) has teamed up with local Yes groups to distribute regional pamphlets which put forward the case for Scottish independence.
It is the second regional campaign day organised by BiS, in a bid to connect people with more local issues affecting the independence vote.
The campaign day will take place on Saturday, June, 1 in Galashiels, where activists will be delivering specially produced pro-independence materials through doors, with stalls also being set up in the town centre.
BiS will be joined by Selkirk Pensioners for Indy as well as Yes Linton, Yes Tweeddale and Yes Berwickshire.
The regional campaign days hope to communicate to voters how independence benefits each local community across Scotland.
BiS aims to collaborate with other local Yes groups on campaign days throughout 2024, and is looking to plan future events in Inverness, Moray and Aberdeenshire – key areas where support for independence is not as high as in other regions.
The first regional campaign day took place earlier this month in Moffat, where local indy groups were also joined by the Yes Bikers and Future Voices Scotland to promote the case for independence in Dumfries and Galloway.
Those attending have been asked to arrive at Market Square for 10.30am to set up. Groups will start distributing from 11am and will meet back at the stalls for 1pm. The campaign day is due to end at 1.30pm.

A new app has been launched to help campaigners register people to vote. The AyeApp is non-party political and was developed with the Electoral Commission, in a bid to get more people registered in time for the 2026 elections in Holyrood.
It contains all the necessary tools to register people in one place, including registering for a postal vote and registering for a certificate of authority, which is useful for those who do not have a photo ID.
Grassroots campaigners can download the app from the App Store and Google Play Store, making it a great tool to get people registered whilst leafleting or running stalls.
