STEPHEN Flynn has once again left the right people fuming as he joked about his support for England at the Euros.
Daily Mail columnist and GB News presenter Andrew Pierce was among those to be left raging at the SNP Westminster leader’s lack of support for Gareth Southgate’s side.
In a post on Twitter/X, Pierce said: “Car crash interview on @gmb with @thesnp leader in #Westminster @StephenFlynnSNP who refused to back England or wish them luck in the Euros."
Pierce added: “Bang goes the vote of many floating voters in Scotland.”
That’s right. Because historically votes in Scotland have lived and died with the success of our biggest rival.
And The Jouker doesn’t know about you, but we’d rather have somebody having a wee joke about the football than someone who claimed asylum seekers should be forced into unpaid work.
While appearing on Good Morning Britain, Flynn was unsurprisingly asked about who he’d be cheering on as the competition goes on.
He said he’d always been a fan of France and of “Toblerone” before Ed Balls asked him why he wasn’t supporting England.

Flynn joked he was unlikely to enjoy “what was coming for England” in the next few days and laughed as he said he was a “paid-up member of the Tartan Army”.
As you might expect, Flynn was quick to see the funny side and quickly took to Twitter/X to respond to Pierce.
He shared an image of him sat at his desk with a bar of iconic Swiss chocolate Toblerone with the caption “only one option for breakfast”.
England are set to play Switzerland in the quarter-finals of the Euros following a dramatic 2-1 win over Slovakia on Sunday.
Switzerland meanwhile beat Italy 2-0 to progress.
Many took to the comments to praise Flynn for his response, with one user describing it as “top class”.
“Well played Stephen” said another two users, while somebody else described it as “marvellous”.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
