LATE on Thursday night, our team will be launching into our most comprehensive and detailed overnight election coverage yet.
We've been organising this since the election date was announced, and we're ready to keep you updated all night long.
Stick with The National's live blog, breaking stories and social media content to get all the key details on the latest announcements and declarations.
While Scottish coverage is an afterthought for many of the big media brands, in-depth reporting on all 57 of Scotland's constituencies will be our key focus for the night (and into the morning).
Here's what you can expect from our coverage:
- Frequent updates on our dedicated live blog, from 10pm until the following afternoon
- Breaking seat declarations in the blog and across our socials
- In-depth analysis on the 10pm exit poll from James Kelly
- Three livestreams from our reporting team, from the newsroom and the major counts, at 10.30pm, 3am and 8am. You can watch on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter/X or here on the website direct
- Video content on the biggest surprises of the night
- Special analysis from some of your favourite columnists and contributors on Friday
- Eight extra pages of specialist election coverage in Saturday's edition
There's all that and more, plus all of our existing reporting on the campaign so far.
Make sure you don't miss out on any of it and take advantage of a subscription today at www.thenational.scot/subscribe ... support Scotland's only pro-independence daily newspaper.
Whatever happens on July 4, we know support for independence is still so strong. Consider joining our community in The National and help to keep that pro-indy voice prominent in Scotland's media.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
