NOT so very long ago, we were treated to outrage and condemnation from Sarwar and co over the £11,000 of wrongly claimed expenses which Michael Matheson repaid and over which he lost his ministerial position.

They, however, were not satisfied with that and demanded that, in addition to the penalties proposed, he resign his seat in Holyrood in order for a by-election to be held.

So keen are they to occupy this moral high ground that they have now selected Douglas Alexander, who had to repay £12,000 of wrongly claimed expenses, to stand as one of their candidates in the current election.

Perhaps anyone considering voting for this party with these standards of integrity should ask themselves if this is the kind of “change” they think they will be voting for.
