IT was pleasing to read I was not alone when I read in Friday’s edition the comment by Catriona C Clark laughing at Murdo Fraser’s preposterous suggestion that the Conservatives might regain those members they lost to the SNP. Independence is sought in large part because of the Conservatives.

This list member of Scottish Parliament seems to think appointment to position by coronation is the way forward, by suggestion that his opponents simply step aside and allow him free access to a position of authority.

This brings to mind the monarchy and House of Lords, and subsequent social injustice through generation of extreme division in society by creation of billionaires alongside social deprivation, all suggesting that Fraser only has thoughts of himself. It is therefore not surprising he has never been elected to a constituency seat but repeatedly found entry to the Scottish Parliament through the back door.
