TEAM National are celebrating our 10th birthday early – by offering up our best-ever digital subscription deal.
When Scotland’s only pro-independence daily newspaper was born out of the 2014 referendum, the naysayers expected us to last as long as a lettuce.
Instead, in November, we’ll be turning 10 … and to mark it appropriately, you can take out a year-long subscription to our website for just £10.
The offer is available right now – so click HERE to visit our subscriptions page to find out more.
That includes unlimited advert-free website and app access to the news that matters to Scotland, access to 50 new puzzles available every week and the ability to have your say with commenting.
And if that’s not enough, we’ve also put together 10 top reasons for subscribing to The National for just £10 – click here for those!
The National’s editor Laura Webster said: “We’ve got big plans in the works to mark our 10th birthday and this is a great chance to take out a subscription and make sure you don’t miss any of that.
“Readers in print and online over the years have shown that there’s an appetite for news that puts the spotlight on Scottish success stories, Scottish history and, of course, the independence movement.
“We want to make sure as many people as possible have access to that kind of journalism in the year ahead and so I’m delighted to reveal this offer. Just £10 for a whole year of access is the best deal we’ve ever had.”

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
