JOHN Swinney should have ignored the meeting of the Council of the Nations and Regions. Whether it is held in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen, the population of Scotland expects him to act like the leader of Scotland and give the whole Starmer idea the brush off.

That our First Minister is equated with the English mayors is an insult too far.

WHAT is John Swinney thinking about, taking part in such an insulting event? He is a first minister of a country for goodness sake. His status and responsibilities are not on a par with those of an English mayor.

This is a blatant attempt to denigrate Scotland’s influence and perhaps strip Holyrood of more powers. Please boycott this in future John.

Wake up people. When will we all have had enough?
