The National:

DONALD Trump and Scottish football Twitter. No, you’re not dreaming, this is just the hell we live in.

As we approach the end of the US election, it seems Trump is willing to go to any lengths (including the length of the Atlantic Ocean) to get people to vote for him.

The former president – now convicted felon – is apparently so desperate to get votes that he’s taken to tweeting random accounts in the hope that someone, anyone, will take notice.

The latest victim in this sorry state of a marketing campaign is Scottish football Twitter – more specifically, @SPFLWatch, an account dedicated to “covering ratings and broadcasting in Scottish football”.

The aforementioned @SPFLWatch account rather hilariously replied: “#stop sorry mate I live in South Carolina”.

Other Scottish football folks also poked fun, with one user replying: “Will you sort out the VAR situation in Scotland if elected?”

Another said: “Do you think St Mirren should have got a penalty on Sunday?”

And another: “How will you fund the redevelopment of Hampden Park?”

While we know he didn’t hit “publish post”, it’s still scary to think that a campaign so utterly inept at using technology is getting closer and closer to accessing nuclear codes.
