SO Angela Rayner says the Scottish Government is “clapped-out” and failing because 232 people died in homeless accommodation.

If only someone could point to the right thing to do to avoid this – I take it there are no deaths in England of people in homeless accommodation, or do they just die in the streets?

Ms Rayner thinks tenants should be able to buy their council homes – I believe the sale of council houses has exacerbated the homeless situation and also the private rental market, where people who inherited a council house are now landlords, and some of them not very good and charging exorbitant rents.

Can she tell me the way England has solved the homelessness issue and the issue of private landlords? I think it might be a bit difficult considering one of the Labour MPs was found to be renting out very substandard properties.
