JAYDEN Stockley, the Aberdeen striker, will not be retrospectively punished for the controversial incident which prematurely ended Kieran Tierney Scottish Cup Final on Saturday.

The Englishman’s arm connected heavily with the Celtic star during the first-half of the match which left his opponent bleeding profusely from the mouth and unable to continue. He was substituted for winning goalscorer Tom Rogic.

Tierney made it clear at the time that he blamed Stockley for his injury and after the game Brendan Rodgers certainly hinted towards blaming the Aberdeen man.

Indeed, Stockley received three red cards during the Premiership season and every one was for elbowing an opponent.

Cup final referee Bobby Madden took no action at the time, he didn’t even award a foul, and the Aberdeen player protested his innocence on Twitter after the match, which his side lost 2-1, but did not offer any sympathy to Tierney as the Celtic player was taken from the field in obvious agony.

And SFA compliance officer, Tony McGlennan, agreed with the Aberdeen player’s version of events that it had been an accident and has decided to take no further action against Stockley in a move which is sure to infuriate Tierney and Celtic.
