HAMILTON have handed new contracts to defender Alex Gogic and midfielder Dougie Imrie.
Former Cyprus under-21 international Gogic, 23, has extended his agreement for another two-and-a-half years, while veteran Imrie has signed a fresh 18-month deal.
Accies boss Martin Canning landed Gogic on a free transfer from Swansea back in February before extending his initial deal until the end of this season.
Now the full-back – who has made 16 appearances times this term – has penned another new contract which ties him to the SuperSeal Stadium until the summer of 2020.
Imrie, who has been an ever-present for Accies this season, will remain at the club at least until the end of the 2018/19 season.
The 34-year-old has played a big role in Hamilton’s season so far, scoring three times and adding five assists for Canning’s men, who sit ninth in the Ladbrokes Premiership.
The club tweeted: “Dougie Imrie - with 3 goals and 5 assists to his name already this season – has committed his future to @acciesfc by penning a contract extension to the end of season 2018-2019.
“Also delighted to announce that Alex Gogic has extended his contract with @acciesfc until the end of season 2019-2020.”
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
