NEIL LENNON believes that Celtic are due to give someone a drubbing as he claimed that the pressure is now off of his players’ shoulders.

The Celtic manager was delighted with his team’s display as they overcame Ross County by two goals to nil at Celtic Park last night, as David Turnbull and Leigh Griffiths sealed a comfortable win for the champions.

But Lennon believes there is still a lot more to come from his men as they look to build on their recent revival.

“I'd have liked more goals because I think our play deserved that,” Lennon said. “But there was good intensity and real quality in some of the football. We should have won the game by more.

“I’m pleased with the quality of chances we created tonight. If we keep playing like that we're going to give somebody a right good going over.

"It was a clean sheet and we didn't look in any trouble. We seem to be going in the right direction again.

"We missed some great chances and the quality of what we created was high. I am delighted, though. It was a good performance. Overall I am really pleased and it's a step in the right direction.

"We got a lift from the weekend win and that pressure and anxiety has gone now.

"We are looking forward to the league games now and it's good to get a win to start the Christmas period.

"There is a feelgood factor. We just want to keep the squad bubbling over now.

"We are still a long way back and we won't get too high or too low. It's a game at a time but we are taking steps in the right direction.

"Griff got 80 minutes and scored a great goal - but he should have had a hat-trick.

"Odsonne (Edouard) should have scored too and we missed some chances in the second half to rack up a really good scoreline.

"But the quality of the chances we made really pleased me.”
