Ferguson, who now manages Kelty Hearts and is a regular pundit on the GO Radio Football show, lined-up alongside a number of coveted internationalists at Rangers.
Michael Mols, Ronald de Boer, Jorg Albertz, Lorezno Amoruso and Arthur Numan were just some of the players Ferguson starred alongside during his first spell at Ibrox. While Ferguson shared a midfield with Pedro Mendes and Steven Davis during his second stint in Govan.
And, when quizzed on GO Radio about the best player he had shared a pitch with at Rangers, Ferguson admitted his answer may surprise some people.
“I look back way at the start when I broke in, I probably had the best relationship with {Giovanni} Van Bronckhorst or {Claudio} Reyna,” he admitted.
“I thought Van Bronckhorst just had everything. He wasn’t the biggest, but he could do everything. He could go get on the ball and pass it, he could run, he could score goals.

“A lot of people are probably surprised when I say the best technically overall was Claudio Reyna. He was frightening, he could play anywhere, such a talented guy and again had everything needed to be a top midfielder."
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
