STEVEN GERRARD will prepare Rangers for a raucous welcome against Brondby after seeking the advice of former Liverpool team-mate Daniel Agger.
The champions have made the trip to Denmark aiming to give their Europa League ambitions another timely boost after a much-needed 2-0 victory at Ibrox a fortnight ago.
Rangers are two points clear of Brondby in Group A and could move above Sparta Prague in the standings if results go their way on matchday four.
The Danes have recorded back-to-back Superliga wins over Copenhagen and Viborg since losing in Glasgow and Gerrard is expecting a tough test tonight.
Gerrard said: “I think we’ve seen a big improvement domestically in terms of results. They obviously got a real positive result at the weekend, you can see them moving up the table.
"I think when that happens, it breeds confidence and belief.
“For us, you try to put yourself in their camp and think: ‘What are they thinking? What does the game mean to them? How is their coach going to approach?’
“I think he’s in a must win situation so we expect the best version of Brondby, the most aggressive version of Brondby.
"And I think with their support and a full house, and if Daniel Agger is telling me the truth and it’s one of the best atmospheres in the world, we have to be ready for a real fascinating challenge."
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
