Philippe Clement has revealed Oscar Cortes won't feature against Ajax as a precaution.
The Rangers winger - signed on another loan with an obligation to buy - is not injured but has been rested after a tough training camp in the Netherlands.
However, there was no explanation offered for James Tavernier and Todd Cantwell being left out of the matchday squad for the pre-season friendly.

The pair have not been listed in the squad to face Ajax this afternoon and neither player featured against Standard Liege earlier this week.
However, Clement was not quizzed on their absence in an interview on Rangers TV ahead of kick-off in the Netherlands.
"Nobody will play 90 minutes, it is not possible after a training camp like that," said Clement ahead of the warm up match. "We will have a different team in the second half or last 30 minutes.

"It is important for a lot of guys to get minutes. We had a lot of injuries last season so a lot of players are coming back out of that. We are rebuilding them step by step.
"In that way, Oscar Cortes will not play today. He is fine but he had a really tough week so there is no risk to take in this game.
"But Danilo will take his first minutes after the long injury for more than six months."

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
