Motherwell exited the Premier Sports Cup after Rangers came from behind to triumph 2-1 winners at Hampden Park.
Stuart Kettlewell's side led at the break through Andy Halliday, and more than matched their Glasgow opponents for large spells. Ultimately Rangers found another gear and goals from Cyriel Dessers and Nedim Bajrami booked their place in the final, which takes place on December 15.

Aston Oxbororugh
Displayed strong handling to keep Rangers at bay in the first half. Helpless for Dessers' goal and then made a top save to deny Jefte low volley shortly after. Came up trumps with two good stops in quick succession as Cerny tried his luck. Perhaps will believe he could've done better with Bajrami's winner at his near post.

Liam Gordon
A real tenacious showing from the Motherwell defender.
6
Kofi Balmer
It was a bodies on the line effort.
6
Dan Casey
Looked absolutely delight with himself as he bravely blocked Bajrami's second half shot. Solid display but naturally tired as the game went on.
6
Marvin Kaleta
The on-loan star produced a highly energetic performance. He never gave up both offensively and defensively. It was admirable to watch how hard he worked to get back and catch Cerny on 71 minutes.
7
Andy Halliday
Scored the opener by getting on the end of a wonderful ball from Seddon. Didn't celebrate against his old employers.
7
Lennon Miller
The teen sensation captained Motherwell for this showpiece match and he again looked like an old head on young shoulders. Didn't let the occasion get to him.
6
Ewan Wilson
Was confident to pick up the ball and get the Motherwell attack going.
6
Steve Seddon
Showed his pace and enthusiasm to cause the Rangers defence trouble. Booked early in second half for catching Barron with his arm then replaced by Sparrow.
6
Apostolos Stamatelopoulos
Didn't see much of the ball at times yet his strength and power did prove a handful.
6
Tawanda Maswanhise
The Zimbabwean forward chased everything and tried to get involved despite Rangers dominating the bulk of possession.

Tom Sparrow
Took too long to pull the trigger when he had the chance to shoot from Tavares' cutback.
5
Zach Robinson
Part of a double switch in the forward areas. Battled well but didn't really cause Butland any trouble.
5
Jair Tavares
Harried the Rangers defence and found himself in decent pockets of space at times.
5
Shane Blaney
On with 15 minutes to go for the knackered Kaleta.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
