Ally McCoist insists he doesn't care if Scottish referees support Rangers or Celtic.
The most important thing is 'integrity' in officiating, according to the Pundit of the Year.
The former Gers and Scotland forward delivered his opinion on the matter after yesterday's online controversy down south involving Premier League official David Coote.
The referee was videoed in a foul-mouthed rant about Liverpool, branding the club 's***', while also calling Jurgen Klopp a 'German c***'.
This has now called into question Coote's previous involvement in Liverpool games.
But McCoist, comparing the debate to the natural climate in Scotland, insists it certainly doesn't matter to him what teams referees support.

He told talkSPORT said: “I don’t think it’s important.
“Let’s take it north of the border, you would suggest that there would be numerous officials either supporting Rangers or Celtic, as they are the two biggest clubs in the country. I don’t have a problem with it.
"It wouldn’t interest me who they support. If they wanted to tell you who they supported or asked who they supported, and they told you. I wouldn’t have a problem with it.
"Once you start questioning the integrity, honesty and decision-making of the officials, that’s where you have a problem.”
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
